ABOUT US
Small People is an outdoor nursery based on a Forest School approach, which is set within an acre of grounds. This magical place nestled amongst the natural beauty of the Nottinghamshire countryside, our children spend 100% of the day outside enjoying a unique experience and education.
We believe that being outdoors amongst natures riches is the best place for children to thrive by learning, playing and growing throughout the seasons. Our back to basics philosophy extends into every area of the nursery in order to stimulate development, from natural, wooden toys to a holistic approach to learning, healthy eating and fresh air and exercise.
OUR APPROACH
We are passionate about providing rich, varied and spontaneous experiences which actively engage our children. Small People offers an exciting open air learning environment where children have the freedom to explore, be physically active, use all of their senses and develop a sense of adventure.
Our invigorating, healthy and natural schooling in stunning surroundings provides children with first hand experiences of life and growth. Meaningful learning takes place through real life, hands-on activities. This is not just about what we learn, but also how and where, and learning in the great outdoors helps bring lessons alive.
We also follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

OUR UNIQUE TREASURES
We offer an exciting open air learning environment with flexible childcare for 0-5 year olds, Monday to Friday, 7am-7pm, for 51 weeks of the year. We are closed on Bank Holidays.
Our landscaped areas provide a safe, natural and fun place for children to learn through play and our farm animals help bring activities and early literature to life.
Our unique, adventure learning play facilities are available for private hire, with tailored party packages for 0–5 year olds. Enjoy the occasion with your own party co-ordinator.
